Naah- just add to the required (hot weather only) equipment for fighters:  Must incorporate a Camelbak or other water bladder under the armor, with the drinking hose threaded up into the helmet.
This was my husband's idea, inspired by the day that I was foolish enough to wear the slightly-too-small red wool Elizabethan noble gown on a 95 degree day.  Hang the Camelbak under the farthingale, and run the hose up under the partlet and hide it in the ruff...
