WELL SAID! I do what I do because I love doing it. If it's teaching
someone to make soap, fitting a pattern to themselves for a cote
hardie, cooking something new, or in the mundane world, putting in an
IV on a sick dog at the animal ER, then it's all good. I am not a
great teacher in any stretch of the imagination. But if I have been
helpful, that makes me smile. I get GREAT satisfaction out of seeing
others happy. The big picture for myself is that if I am not
enjoying what I spend my spare time on... then I'm doing it WRONG and
need to take a step or two back to rethink something. Does this mean
I'm bucking for a peerage? Nope. In fact I'm rather certain I will
never see one. I also don't care if I do or not. I enjoy helping.
It's what I do. I like seeing happy people. It makes me smile inside and out.
What I find sad is those who spend so much energy and time doing
something they don't like to get an award they think they should have
and then whine constantly for not getting one or not getting it fast
enough. Cluefinder here folks.... do what YOU LIKE to do.....BECAUSE
you like to. Someone, somewhere will see THAT. But they will also
see the sour grapes and tend to put someone with a heavy case on the
far back burner. For those people tend to burn out folks who love
what they do by shear spread of the sourness.....
A very wise young man who is now a knight once told a man at
arms: "You should strive to BE a knight. NOT to Become one. If you
don't know the difference, you need to rethink your path in
this." (Sir Tristen Sextwulf, Aethelmearc and my apologies if I
butchered the spelling.)
Just my 2 cents.

People too weak to follow their dreams will always find a way to
discourage others.
