[MR] Affecting others

'What does it hurt you (collective you, not just you
m'Lord) to let people go forward with what they want?'
I think that this is the crux of the issue. We need
to remember that most everything we do *will* affect
the rest of the kingdom. A new principality/kingdom
*will* affect my life. I'd almost certainly end up on
the edge of a group rather than in the center as I
currently am. My barony would have to decide (or have
it decided - I'm not sure how these things work) which
way to go - we currently have many projects that we're
working on that are a lot more useful and interesting
to us as a group than arguing over a decision like
that, but we'd be forced to deal with it one way or
another. I might land in a different group than that
of my friends up or down the road - sure, I can play
anywhere I like, but I might be attending a different
group's Crown Tourney to watch a friend fight. The
point is that it does affect me.
Such a change might not be a bad thing overall, and
I've seen some valid arguments in favor of a
principality, but it's a mistake to think that we
should be able to do what *we* want without
consideration for how it affects everyone else in
Atlantia.
Disclaimer: I currently do not have strong feelings
one way or the other about a principality. *shrug*
