Atlantia needs solutions right now and dividing the kingdom up before attempting to find a serious solution to the problems that face each of us is not a path I think we should take. From what I have read and heard we have these problems: 1) Royalty not being able to attend events in areas that are remote to them. 2) Populace having to drive far distances to attend kingdom events/kingdom events seem to be held in areas that are not central to the populace.
Let us discuss these problems constructively. How often must royalty visit a region to show that they support it? Is the kingdom travel fund receiving enough contributions to help take the financial concern out of the equation when making a decision on which events to attend? Would rotating kingdom events by state be an option? Would rotating it by barony be another option? Should we poll past royalty and find out across the board what were the biggest obstacles they faced when having to make choices about event attendance? If a kingdom event takes place at the opposite end of the kingdom can we support and not criticize when another event is going on in the other part of the kingdom?
How many of us at local business meetings have run into the frustration of trying to plan an event because there are so many date conflicts? How many groups are experiencing problems with growth because local events that can draw in newcomers have taken a back seat to larger events 3-4 hours away or more? Should we limit the amount of events a region can hold so that people will go to events further away? Should we focus on quality of an event or quantity? And lastly, are all the problems due to outside factors not in our control (i.e. the economy is terrible and we are all hurting financially)?
Our growth has exceeded our planning. We need to stabilize this situation before dividing up over it.
