Just for the record (and I am completely undecided as to whether I'd
be pro-regions or not)
No one is advocating "dividing our beloved Atlantia". A Principality
is still part and parcel of the Kingdom, just as all of Windmaster's
Hill's Cantons are still part and parcel of Windmaster's Hill.
It is true that the first step towards establishing a new Kingdom
would be to first establish a Principality, but no one has ever said
that is an inevitable journey. There are principalities in other
Kingdoms that have been such for over 20 years, and have no intent of
going Kingdom anytime soon.
An interesting point I found perusing the SCA pages...we are the
oldest Kingdom in the SCA that has neither spawned a child Kingdom nor
has an active Principality in place. That may be meaningless...but it
is interesting nonetheless...
