well that was quick. normally it takes a little longer for the personal
attacks to start but ok.

youre right, i don't have to worry about the process. i didn't have to
worry about it ten years ago either. what i do worry about is the overall
effect of actions on the sca, and atlantia, as a whole. the broader picture
if you will. and don't forget, its just as expensive for those of us in the
south to have to travel north. while a gallon of fuel costs .5 to .10 more
in the metro dc area than it does in columbia the average income and of
course expenses in dc are much higher. so, in the end, it's a wash. the
complaints about travel are the same for us as it is for the north. will
cutting kingdoms into small pieces change that? nope.

so the other issue is kingdom level events. so we cut the kingdom in half
and suddenly people will travel to the far reaches to go to 12th night?
huh? or, will they just go and make a principality 12th night and still not
travel to the kingdom one? i don't poo-poo things automatically and find
the accusation insulting. i look at situations with a very open mind and do
try to put great thought into them before stating an opinion. what i don't
do is hear an opinion and then get emotionally charged behind it.

i live in the southern end of the kingdom. tell me how i, and the kingdom,
will benefit from a kingdom split so i can be for the idea instead of
against it.

Ok, so without sugarcoating it, then don't. You don't live up here in the
northern reaches of Atlantia, so you won't have to worry about the process,
just don't hinder the way if we here go forward.

guess its that whole new yorker part of me
that speaks without sugarcoating that could be blamed.
but a three state kingdom in the sca? really?
why not just make all the sca baronies
kingdoms.... i mean if it really is such a great idea
if this thing gets started again im sure i will not be able to ignore it and
im sure the same questions will come up, and im sure we will get little done
because of emotions. but really? three states, why? more awards? we have
too many now. want to see the king and queen (well, other than for awards),
travel. don't want to travel? ok, don't. no problems.

The only way we would not get things done is if more people would think like
you and automatically poo-poo the idea out of hand. You seem to have missed
the point entirely...we don't seek more awards, more Barons, or any other
such nonsense. It's not that we don't want to travel, it's that some
increasingly can't afford to travel far and what we seek is to have the SCA
in our lives, at an affordable cost so everyone can enjoy the companionship
of our fellow Scadians. What have you to fear by a new Principality?
