With all it's rules and regulations, I'm sure the SCA has a (somewhat)
defined process that needs to be followed for the formation of a
principality.

And I'm equally sure it's a lot of paperwork and chock full of
pain-in-the-rear tasks that don't appear to serve any useful purpose.  It's
the SCA way. :)

That said, in this particular instance, I happen to like it that way.  
I know that's a surprise to many of you! :) 

Forming a principality is "a big decision" and should not be possible to do
quickly or easily.  The ability and willingness of enough people to do the
drudgework necessary is a fair indication of whether the area is truly ready
and interested in being a principality (and thus on track to become a
kingdom).

I wish good fortune and happy results to both those who wish to form a
principality of their own, and to those who do not.  You will be my friends
and welcome at my hearth regardless.
