I will not get into the "P" discussion other than to say we sure prove the
point of the old adage, "Everything old is new again!"

I would LOVE to see Atlantia look for some permanent central sites. Having
attended West Kingdom 12 Night (held at the same hotel every year but
"hosted" by different branches) way back in 200 or 2001...it has been an
idea I have floated out to folks for ideas many times. As Kingdom
Seneschal, I even tried to get some folks to look at the Petersburg, VA to
Rocky Mount/Roanoke Rapids, NC corridor of I-95 for good sites. With my
travel in that job I just could not go there to do the search myself. The
concept was proved a good one with both 12-15th night at a hotel and this
last one.

I support also finding a site in Southern/Central Virginia/Northern NC that
would be a permanent site for Crown.

I also think there is no problem with revising policy and law to allow the
Kingdom to book these sites (we did it for Crusades and other kingdoms do)
so that we are NOT scrambling for sites.

Now, it would change our culture for sponsoring these events. But once we
have a couple...the kingdom would come to know these sites just like they
did Crusades. A damn good singlet autocrat (with the contacts), a branch or
a household could bid to "host."

It is workable but the first step is a LOT of leg work and research. In a
volunteer organization...we do not conscript. I sure can't take off the
time to go up there to look at sites.

But, I bet folks would entertain the idea better....IF someone has the
willingness, the capacity and the follow through to volunteer to do so and
give hard data....
