[MR] Event Bids and locations

My Lady,
I hate to disagree with you, but many of us can remember a Twelfth Night in
Black Diamond, just off of Interstate 81, that turned into 13th, 14th and
15th Nights because the Interstate itself was closed! I don't know about
others, but I came close to losing my job because I couldn't get out of
Blacksburg until Wednesday of the week after the event...and even then
almost didn't make it home as we got caught in yet another storm. But to be
honest, I'm not certain it was a weather problem...Black Diamond, Storvik,
Lochmere and Dun Carraig have all hosted this event and we are also subject
to snow events...even Richmond and Raleigh aren't completely out of danger!
I think it really does have to do with Highland Foorde being so very far
north...even for some of us in the northern region, it is as much as 4 or 5
hours away...unfortunately.
I was part of the last effort to create a northern principality, but it was
unsuccessful for a number of reasons, at least part of which were a fear
that we wanted to become a Kingdom...and the fear of many in the southern
part of the Kingdom that we would ignore the rest of the Kingdom. I do
think that, given the cost of travel and the situation with the economy, it
may be something we want to consider again.
