Unto all.....
Gather round, folks, and I will tell a tale.
(Bona Fides: I was a resident of the Midrealm for 34 years. Authorized in AS 11 and knighted there in 1981...)
It is, indeed, "Hoobah!" and here is the story,
A freind of mine, Guy de la Mayne, who was the second Dragon Herald of the Midrealm did, in ancient days, live in the Barony of Northwoods (East Lansing, MI),
where the folk met for heraldry discussions, armoring, and belly dancing practice, all in the apartment of one of the barony residents. One evening,
probably in about A.S. 7, when most of the guys were in one room discussing helms and heraldry, and most of the ladies were in another practicing dance moves,
the guys took a break and one wandered into the other room. He watched the dancing for a moment then said, "Hubba hubba". Said a nearby friend, "Nah, thats not
medieval! How about, Hoobah! Hoobah!"
The absolute truth, and not one person in a hundred in the Midrealm knows it.
In service to kingdom trivia,
William of Bellwood

Hmm... I left in '88 and had to resign as Minister of Protocl when I did, and I can tell you that It was still "Hoobah" at kingdom courts; wasn't Kingdom 12th Night in Grey Gargoyles that year or the year before? That nifty Irish Center? I dunno... I know I heard what I expected to hear at court; were you a scholar who heard what you expected to hear at court? Or did you have Sir Otto's lisp too? (I hereby duck and run for cover...)

Nope.
Grey Gargoyles said Huzzah. At least from '85 through '88 they did.
Can't speak of more recent eras, naturally.
