[MR] Weekend Rate for Pennsic

I don't see it happening. It may be good in theory. But if your giving out
refunds you have to track two cash flows (money in and out) Instead of
refunds being given in only extreme cases you are making it the norm.
Maybe if the Coopers could work it out where they keep a little extra, so if
you stayed 50% of the week maybe you only get 30% of you money back. Maybe
they could track the refunds at the gate and then issue refund checks a few
weeks after the war. But the KISS principle is key here. Why make it overly
complex when with a little planning you could get a friend to buy X, Y, Z
for you.
Is the overhead going to benifit the event in a way that increases revenue?
Hard to say maybe people leave ealier to take advantage of the discount when
they would otherwise stay. This could eat up the extra revenue that the
casual shoppers would bring. I am not overly sure there would be people who
come that wouldn't have otherwise shown up in numbers to make the process
justifiable. Another argument is does Pennsic really need any more growth?
