Better than that ....
A few years ago when I was job hunting I got a call a week or so before
Pennsic and I said I wouldn't be able to start the job until September
because I had a camping trip planned in August (and wanted to wait until
my daughter was in school instead of juggling day care for two weeks).
The recruiter asked where I camped. When I said Pennsylvania, he said
"Pennsic!!". Turns out his a Merc.
Got to the job, and a few weeks later, my boss asked me if I was in the
SCA (Hi Seamus). He saw the Atlantia sticker on my mini-van in the
parking lot.
The job didn't last because the commute killed me. But it does make for
an interesting tale.
Now I have a 10 minute commute ironically for the same contractor I was
a sub-contractor for at that job. So it all worked out.

is whether or not you can take the first week of August off.
