The catch is that once people have come on site, there is no way to ensure that they leave site. The idea of having an extra ribbon won't work since people can simply take it off. Having different site medallions wouldn't work either since no one checks them. Sure, when you re-enter the gates they do, but since 1993 I have not had a single person _on site_ ask to see my Pennsic site token... which is usually buried in the bottom of my basket instead of on display. The logistics of having extra security to usher shoppers out at the end of the day would be a big burden, not counting troll to let them in. And having to start initiating spot checks for medallions around site to ensure shoppers have left will make it feel more like Disneyworld during Magic Hours than Pennsic. Now if merchants were allowed to set up mini versions of their stores on the battlefield someday, that might work. But considering the effort that would take, it's just easier to have shoppers pay for the week even if they're only staying a day. Consider the extra money paid for the week as a donation to make a better Pennsic for the next year when you can come. Or just make sure to shop enough at Pennsic discounts that you make up for losing the admission cost.... like a really really big craft fair ;)

Cheers,
~Bianca
