[MR] heard a rumor

Yes, there are handicap services at war. Basically you can schedule
for a cart ride ahead of time, and you can get a place to plug in your
power chair or other medical equipment if you have need. There should
be information on the Pennsic website.

What to do - drink water. Lots of it. Bring comfortable shoes -
forget about fashion. Wear sunscreen. Drink more water. Serve as a
retainer for the royals - it's a heck of a lot of fun and not much
work. TRM are very nice people and you'd enjoy yourself.

What to see - take a ride on each of the bus routes to get an idea of
the size and layout of Pennsic. Learn your navigation from the Cooper
Store so that if you get lost you can at least get to your camp from
the Cooper Store. Attend classes - plan them ahead of time so you know
what classes are offered on a particular day. SHOP!

Make sure your newbies know where Chirurgeon's point is. Make sure
they don't go out after dark their first night without someone who has
been to Pennsic before. (Someone who arrived the day before and has
been around the campground does count.)

Helpful things - bring some baby wipes and keep them in your tent.
Use them to wipe yourself down before bed. There's very little that
I've found that's so convenient and yet so refreshing as using those
baby wipes on your feet just before bed.

Keep a case of bottled water in your tent. Don't keep food in your
tent if you can avoid it - if you do make sure it's tightly closed so
you don't draw ants.

Go to www.pennsic.net for a complete list of things to pack.

Don't forget to drink lots of water! Oh, and wear a hat or veil. It
makes a difference. If you're like me and just can't bear something
on your head - get one of those parasols at the cooper store.
