[MR] Please don't apologize "for the bandwidth"

That reminds me of the classified documents that I have dealt with for 20
years now, they often have pages left blank that will say in the middle
"This page intentionally left blank". I always wanted to make one with two
more lines: "Except for the above line, which makes this page not blank",
and "So perhaps I should have said this page would have been left
intentionally blank if not for these words you are reading now"
Cheers,
James ap Llewelyn

Subject: [MR] Please don't apologize "for the bandwidth"
Periodically I see someone post a message, frequently an ISO, in which they
apologize for the (use of) bandwidth.
Nothing to apologize for, in my estimation.? That sort of thing is one of
the reasons for the tavern's existence.
And besides, the extra words just use more bandwidth (though not, I believe,
a hugely significant amount), so the senders are in a sense exacerbating the
very situation for which they are apologizing.
Your servant aye
Donal
