[MR] garb, events and newcomers

I know a group that held a terrific day of A&S classes and competitions.
One, an all-day affair, was a competition to create an outfit for a Period
persona.  We were given a list of items we could bring and use.  A huge pile
of "treasures" was donated by members of the group (time to clean out the
fabric scraps!).  The competitor teams created four complete outfits, which
were judged and then added to the Group's Loaner Garb tubs. I would
cheerfully have worn any one of those outfits (if they'd fit!), and I'd
delightedly help run another of these events for a Barony in Atlantia!
