Exactly my point.  If you're wearing a fitted chainmail codpiece with a
sword, you might as well be hit with the bat.  You might not get cut,
but it'll make one heck of an impact.

Well, if I'm going to be hit in the groin with a sword, I'd rather be 
wearing chainmail than cloth. If I'm going to be hit with a bat, 
wearing chainmail won't help.
