[MR] cordial/liqueur recipes

Recipes like this are still made in Eastern Europe. My grandmother 
used to do them all the time. Any liquor in her house would be filled 
with cherries or other fruit and made into a cordial.

One time my uncle brought over a bottle of good scotch. He carefully 
hid it away in a closet. The next time he came it was a cordial. He 
nearly cried.

In other words, you don't need expensive liquor to make a good 
cordial, and you probably couldn't tell the difference if you did use 
something expensive.
