I call upon on those with spritely spirits and nimble feet to share
their talents and love of dance this April 19 in the Canton of
Buckston-on-Eno (Durham, NC)!
We are hosting "St. Vitus' Dance," a focused dance collegium with
classes during the day and a sideboard feast and ball in the evening -
but we need teachers to make it happen! If you have any interest in
teaching, please let me know! (Similarly, if there are particular
classes you'd like to see, also let me know and I will do what I can
to make that happen.)
Obviously, a lot of the classes will probably focus on how-to and
steps for particular dances - you are more than welcome to teach a
class like that (and note that we're not limited to European dance -
Middle Eastern would also be welcome!). However, any class related to
dance could be taught - some other options include:
- medieval iconography related to dance
- dance music, forming a dance band
- how to handle your clothes while dancing (trains, etc)
- how to add flair and style to your dancing
- period dance sources and instructions
- the development of medieval dance/dance scholarship in the SCA
- insert your great idea here!
I'd love to hear from lots of you - please let me know if you're
interested in teaching/if there's a particular class you personally
want to take!
YIS,
