Subject: Donation Progress for GregRobin's Leukemia & Lymphoma Effort.
Auction ($5K) YouTube (7,700 Steps)

Hello from GregRobin Smith.

This is an update about our current drive to raise awareness and funds for
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

There are donations to report (especially one for $2,000!) Auctions, a
couple of Stair Climbs (one you can still join) a brief Video to watch,
opportunities to advertise your business and a chance to bring an exciting
Guest Speaker (Benjamin Franklin) to your community.

That's a lot, I know. My sponsors and I are doing everything we can to
support this great cause, so we want to enable as many people as possible to
become involved.

Many of you have already just donated directly to our site

http://www.active.com/donate/tntwaak/G-C-Smith

This letter is to also let you know how your donations are inspiring others.

Progress So Far:

~$5,600 raised ending in Sept. 07.

An _additional_ $5,964 has been raised for the current campaign. That's
about $11,500 total - SO FAR!!!.

How we did that:

1) We held an auction at a Medieval History Convention in January. It
brought in over $3,000. One generous soul gave an additional donation of
$2,000.

We are planning other auctions. Donations of business services and products
(CD's, Hotel/B&B Stays, Dinners, Theatre Tickets) are tax deductible, just
like your cash donations, and are a great way to advertise. Please contact
me for information at ben at ben-franklin.org

2) We staged a Stair Climb at the University of Washington Campus. I ran up
a 25-step staircase 308 times in two hours (that's = 7,700 stairs - NOT
counting the steps going down:-) In addition to donations, we generated a
good deal of publicity for the cause. There were articles in many Seattle
publications (The UW's 'Here & There', University Week, The UW Carlson
Center Website for their Day of Service program and Seattle's Stranger
Magazine even listed us as a great event to go watch!)

The UW student news source "The Daily" spent two hours videoing the event.
They put together a great 2 1/2 minute video of the event. You can see it
by going to www.goBENgo.info and scrolling to the bottom of the page. It's
the YouTube link there. Or, go directly to
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ztqc7MSlKIo

3) We were also seeking members of my Big Climb Team. We climb just 1,311
Stairs at the Columbia Tower in Seattle on March 16, 2008. You can join my
team by going to http://active.com/donate/2008bigclimb/Squire_Joseph

It's great exercise and a great cause. Also, a lot of fun. Hey, if I can
climb 7,700 stairs in two hours, most anyone can climb 1,311, and you can
take all day.

4) We are scheduling Ben Franklin presentations (especially on the I-5
Corridor on the way to performances in Southern Oregon in May and again in
July of 2008). If you would like to host a performance to benefit the LLS
along the way, or at other times wherever your community is, please contact
me. Information on the Ben Franklin presentation: www.Ben-Franklin.org

If you have donated, or are still just thinking about it, go to the Website
and see who else has given. You may see some friends there.

If you are donating for the first time and are from the SCA, please put
"SCA" in your First Name Field as that credits our Gold Sponsorship
effort. Lesser Corporate Sponsorships are available starting at $1,500.

I am raising money for this very important cause and I'm asking you to help.
Make a contribution; share the YouTube Video mentioned with your friends;
advertise your business with a product or service donation; climb the
Columbia Tower with me; get a matching donation from your
employer... Whatever fits with your abilities, I thank you for joining my
Team!

Use the link in this email to donate online quickly & securely. You will
receive email confirmation of your donation and I will be notified as soon
as you make your donation. I thank you in advance for your support, and
really appreciate your generosity!!
