[MR] leukemia society donations ... somewhat OT

Gwynwilf, and my other fellow Atlantians,

I know this is not so much on topic for the SCA as such, but I've known
so many SCAdian friends who have suffered the ravages of cancer that I
want to appeal to you all, my extended family, to ask for your support.
Financial, emotional, whatever you can spare. Words of encouragement
are needed just as much as money. I've taken a light-hearted tone in my
fundraising and training effort, but honestly, having to make the swim
part of this thing scares me. My motivation has been the stories of
cancer patients and the fear and discomfort they have to endure, and it
makes me realize I can face my somewhat irrational fear and do this.
For all my joking, I'm not likely to die from my endeavor.

As Gwynwilf said, LLS is a great organization helping many people with
cancers that, though common, are less supported than many. My dad died
of one, she suffered two different ones, and I've had many friends and
acquaintances in the SCA battle one of these. Please, if you can find
it in your heart to do so, give, even just a little, to help this cause.
Thank you my friends.

There's even a bit with a dog...

Thanks David for doing this! I recently had not one,
but two forms of stage 4 Non Hodgkins Lymphomas. Most
cancer funds are raised for, and go to, breast cancer,
and I know folks who have it, my grandmother had it
and survived. but most of you don't know that besides
funding, there is also very little assistance for
people who have other forms of cancer, and the
Lymphoma society is one of only two who help. I
recently met a woman who has a cancer that has no
funding and the only treatment is amputation. So
please give!!
