First off to Baroness Brig... that Scroll is beautiful!!! I can only hope to make something half that nice some day...

Now, as it was so cunningly suggested by Mistress Rhiannon, here is the translation for the runes on the Scroll. The alliteration rules were that for each 2 lines paired together, a leading sound was to be used 2 times in one line and at least once in the other line to keep the proper alliteration. 4 of these paired lines were joined together to make an 8 line group that I devoted to each fight. I used the heraldic representations for some fighters as I could so that I did not have to find words that could be joined with their names over and over again.

First some links to the pics...

Crown Tourney Fall 2008

The King sends his call
For his Kingdom to come,
To gather in group
Great Warriors all:
Come, carry your armor
with cunning weapons approach,
Our need an Heir
Another to guard the throne.

Fighters come far
Fevered for battle,
Great men gird for war
Groomed for this day:
Ladies as bright lights
Love and Courtesy fair,
Together toward Triumph
Their claims to make.

Tents are raised Tall
Thrones and bright flags,
The people, the pageantry
the Populace has come:
to witness in wonder
these warriors arrayed,
the joy and jubilation
For Justice and Heirs.

Eight spots Await them,
Each eager to prove,
Three men take challenge
Their mettle to test first:
Men offer no mercy
when much is at risk,
Begin now does battle
Bring now the first bout.

Comes now Lord Christian
a carver of men,
Bring now to battle
good Baron Achbar:
Two times they close
these towers of men,
Battle is brought forth
good Baron bends knee.

Then Michael makes match
his mind on his foe,
Sir Theron to take on
in triumph or defeat:
Blows like bee-swarm
go back and forth,
two heroes were here
The Heron stands tall.

The next match of men
is Matthew of Battle,
Sir Daemon stands ready
Sword steady and still:
their clash it carries
cross field and hill,
Two swordsman start
the shark swims alone.

Of Logan are legends
Legion his tales,
Comes Grimr, Great Baron
Gird all for battle:
Strong is the sword
Sturdy the shield,
War is well waged
The Wolf remains.

There is Sir Theron
his task is at hand,
Draw nigh Sir Daemon
determined to stand:
Swords stabbing swiftly
seek targets to maim,
the blows are bountiful
bold Daemon bows down.

Christian now claims
his right to the Crown,
Sir Vladimir strides strongly
steady and true:
Vlad's polearm is potent
that bringer of pain,
Christian is crushed
cut deep he goes down.

Make way for Mungoe
Massive in size,
Ready stands Ragnar
reaper of men:
Collision of combat
the cuts, they abound,
his Grace meets the Giant
Ragnar's fame Grows.

Micheal's mind made
again to make match,
Christian is challenged
his courage to test:
Fierce goes the fighting
formidable the foes,
Mettle meets metal
Lord Michael goes down.

Boldly from Battle
brave Matthew is brought,
choosing a challenge
a foeman to chop:
Brave is the Baron
Brotamaor by name,
though mighty the melee
then Matthew stands alone.

Then Achbar arises
another to meet,
Mungoe named McKlinchey
makes for the field:
two times they tangle
terrible the cries,
brutal the battle
Baron Achbar there lies.

The Wolf he waits
Weapons at Hand,
The Heron is Hungry
History to be made:
The Spectators are standing
Seeing the bout,
The Heron is hit
Humbled, he bows.

Come now combatants
Contest for the prize,
The Hammer is here
Holding this ground:
Piercing, the Polearm
Vlad’s powerful tool,
Attacking from afar
His Grace is overcome.

Lord Matthew is marching
His mighty left arm,
Sir Daemon is deadly
Driven to win:
Three times they close
Terrible the clash,
Singing their swords
Sir Daemon swings last.

The mountain called Mungoe
Mighty and strong,
Lord Christian the cunning
Calm and prepared:
Twice these Titans
Terrible the fight,
Colossal the clamor
Lord Christian yields the field.

Ragnar the Hammer
Hungry comes he,
Determined is Daemon
Dread his swift sword:
The Shark, he circles
Silently he swims,
But great and grand
His Grace he wins.

Mungoe makes ready
Roaring with rage,
Theron that Knight
Skills tried and true:
These warriors both wary
Wanting the win,
Mungoe’s leg maimed
The match to Theron.

Two Dukes they duel
Death on their swords,
Prior Kings both
A Kingdom to claim:
Onward comes the warriors
Agile their edges,
Twice close these two
Triumph to Logan.

Two Knights come now
Both contestants well known,
Polearm meets sword
Both savage and sharp:
Two times does Theron
Take Vlad to his knees,
Then polearm’s great power
Pierces from afar.

Then there are two
The last standing tall,
The finals to fight
Fierce to the end:
First with Great Glaives
As Giants they clash,
Powerful Vlad’s Polearm
Punctures visor from afar.

Next with dual weapons
Deadly and dread,
Sword and Spear strikes
Two Swords go down:
Come now with Claymores
GreatSwords to Cleave,
First losing a leg,
Vlad is laid low.

Last round then starts
Strong shield, swift sword,
Slowly they circle
Striving to win:
Watching for weakness
The warriors await,
The combatants then close
Logan claims the Crown.

Their Majesties thank
The throng gathered round,
Witnesses they watch as
One Warrior comes forth;
Logan last-standing
Bends leg before King,
Arrayed against all
Arises the Prince.
