Billy and Charlie's sell a pewter beaker http://www.billyandcharlie.com/misc.html it is about the same price at the "julep cups" you posted but based off an medieval examples.
I also picked up a couple of silver plated beakers at the Claude Moore Farm in Langley VA (Near the CIA) in their gift shop; I think they were $10 or $20 each. They are based on colonial examples but are much like the medieval examples. I also picked up shaker boxes at one of their market fare events; that style of box is found in many paintings in the late middle ages and renaissance. Karen has a page of examples on those too.
I know folks have picked up "julep cups" made of pewter on Ebay for cheap in the past; that might be worth checking out since the event is still five weeks away.
