[MR] OOP need advice about dealing with bone that has been in formalgahide

I just got back from the doc's with the remains of my removed bone and parts from my knee replacement.  They were stored for a while anyway in formalgahide but were rinsed off and are now just in a plastic container, still a bit damp.  I would like to do something with the bone and need advice on how best to deal with it at this point.  
 
Anyone out there have any experience with this stuff?  Should I worry about making an ear plug type earring from it?  My kid wants a part of me to wear and I do too.
