Well, I don't know of any on heraldry or making a coat of arms, but I do know of a book that's all about a girl who helps her father make a Book of Hours. It's called "Marguerite Makes a Book," by Bruce Robertson, an art historian. It is a nice story, but also has pretty accurate information about gathering materials and preparing the book. It even goes into what materials they used to make different paint colours.

This book has wonderful illustrations, and is recommended for grades 2-5. You can find it on Amazon.com...I got my copy from the Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C.

Enjoy,
