As it happens, I think you're talking about a merchant whom I know. If
it's the same one, I can clarify a bit.  The younger kid is older than
5 - 7 or 8. She had some reliable teenagers assisting her with the
kids. Her husband is in the Sandbox, so she basically spent the whole
War up to her arse in alligators. While the younger one has some
growing to do, his 10-year-old sister is at least as mature as some of
the teens I saw in the bath house.
