Possibly more than one session depending on interest.)-So I'm here! Now What? A newcomers class by Wynne verch Gruffyd-Flag Painting/making- Rozsa-Day Shades- Rozsa-Oh Crap, It's the King! What do I do?-- Arnora (a simple class on the chivalry and royalty)Specifically for NEWCOMERS-There will be a scavenger hunt for newcomers run by Arnora at the Troll gate.A&S Competitions-Simple and Basic Garb- sponsored by Arnora Olafsdattir, a simplecompetition for the easiest and best looking garb made from materialsyou have on hand. All garb to be donated to the Canton newcomersgarb coffers.Children's Heraldic Art Competition- sponsored by Wynne verch GruffydFor children ages 6 and under, 7-10 and 11-14. They will be able todecorate a shield as they choose with the art supplies I willprovide. They will be displayed and voted on by the populace.A&S DISPLAYS-So far we will have displays of:-various books for research, jewelry making (Miriel)-chainmail (Fergus will display and work on some while there)-heavy fighting equipment display-archery equipment display (both of these are for any newcomers to see the types of things it takes to start up those activities in the SCA)-inkle loom weaving (Brianna)-spinning/felting (Virag).And now, the part that at least a few more of you (some spots still left for feast! WHAT'S FOR DINNER???NORTHERN INDIAN FEASTMattar Pilau- (aromatic rice with peas, onions, cloves, cinnamon, peppercorns)Dopeeaza Murg- (chicken cooked in onions with garlic, ginger, cumin, turmeric, coriander, garam masala, salt, black pepper)Kofta- (minced ground beef meatballs cooked with onions, garlic, egg, ginger, cumin, coriander, garam masala, salt, curry leaves, cardamom)Saag Dhal- (lentils with spinach topped with fried onions in turmeric, black pepper, dhal masala)Aviyal- (dry, vegetable curry of onions, cauliflower, carrots and peas with fresh coriander, black pepper, salt, turmeric, coriander, garlic, ginger, coconut)Roti- (unleavened wheat flat bread)Chutney- sweet accompanimentRaita- (yogurt sauce with cucumber, salt, cumin)Achar- (hot pickle purchased from an Indian market)Halva- (sweet dessert of semolina, raisins, almonds, cardamom)This is, of course, all in addition to the regular heavy combat (TBA on site) and the novice spear tourney with the set of gauntlets as the prize.$5 to get in! $5 to eat!
