Reminder to all the artisans of Sacred Stone and of Atlantia.

This year's Sacred Stone Baronial Birthday is packed to the gills with
opportunities to show the knowne world your skills!

We have three sets of competitions for you to choose from!

*Baronial Champions Competitions*

*Event Theme Competitions*

*Sponsored Theme Competitions*

Here are the categories you have to choose from:

*Baronial Champions Competitions*
Every year at our Baronial Champions are chosen from among the populace.
Those wishing to compete for any of the champion positions must enter two
categories. This includes the marshaled champions as well. You can choose to
do an entry in more than one A&S category or in an A&S category and a
marshaled category. Also please note that you need not live within the "real
world" confines of Sacred Stone to be one of her champions. If you are one
of our many friends and neighbors who spend much of your time in our Barony,
you too are welcome to compete. You also need to contact the Baroness with
your intent to try for a champion position. She can be reached at
redswanne at bellsouth.net. The A&S categories for Baronial Champion are as
follows:

A&S Champion (General A&S)

Baking Champion (Period baking)

Brewing Champion (Brewed beverages)

Scribal Champion (Calligraphy & Illumination)

*Event Theme Competitions*

The theme for this year's Birthday celebration is a Tournament/Festival Day
in the Courts of Love of France (1300's - 1500's). We will be bringing the
pageantry and pomp to life thru the day's activities. The following are the
event themed A&S competitions:

*Period Hats & Head coverings* – Whether it is a butterfly henin or a simple
veil & wimple, period head coverings are the perfect way to finish of an
outfit. Head coverings from anywhere in the knowne world before 1600 are
accepted. Documentation is strongly requested.

*Patents of Nobility* – Much like our modern family tree a patent is used to
prove the lineage of a person. We challenge the scribes of our fair kingdom
to create a Patent of Nobility for a person of your choosing. *Note- this
does not need to be you, it can be a historical figure, another scadian, or
you can make someone up! Use your imagination! Your challenge is to make us
believe or barring that make us laugh.

*Heraldic Display* – Banners and pennons, cothardies and sidelesses, shield
covers and tabards, or barding and mantles. We want displays of heraldry in
this walk around competition. You need not fill out an entry form just put
on your best display. The judges will be observing throughout the day. So
wear it, fly it or display it in the way you like best!

*Sponsored Theme Competitions*

We are very fortunate this year to have a number of sponsored competitions.

The sponsored competitions are as follows:

*Outrageous Haberdashery* – (Sponsored by Baroness Alianor) This competition
will be held in conjunction with the period hat and head covering
competition. The more the better is the idea here. We have all seen those
painting and illuminations of the wild headwear of the middle ages, but can
you recreate it??? (Documentation is requested)

*Most Flamboyant Herald* – (Sponsored by Baroness Alianor) One of the
activities during the day at this year's birthday celebration is the
"Heralds for Hire". The heralds that choose to volunteer for this activity
will also be entered into this competition. You may be asked to announce a
knight entering the list field, or you might get asked to describe an A&S
display for the populace, or you might be hired to tell the world that
someone is going to take a nap! Just remember a truly flamboyant herald can
make anything sound grand and noteworthy!!

*Born of Fire* – (Sponsored by Baroness Alianor) Much like our own fierce
Phoenix, great beauty can come from the heart of the flame. We call all
those who use fire to transform the mundane into true art to bring your work
to enter this competition. This category includes glass workers, potters,
wood burners, etc... Documentation is requested)

*Chivalric Poetry* – (Sponsored by Lady Clara) Lay verses of ladies and
roses on our table. We're calling for original poems in a documentable style
(think French chivalric poetry) based on a historic figure or event.
Documentation of style is required.
