The process they use to clean off formadehyde bones is to boil the bone
first in a solution of bleach, about one cup of bleach to a gallon of water.
Don't boil for too long, about 30 mins should do the trick. Then put it
immediately in a plastic tray under tap water for about 15 mins. You can
also reboil the bone in fresh or soapy water to clean off the bleach.
Afterwards, spray the bone with some kind of antibacterial solution, like
Lysol.
Make sure when you boil it the first time, to do it in a well ventilated
area and don't breath in the fumes. Formadehyde is a carsinogen and boiling
off bleach also gives off some chlorine. Make sure you don't get the stuff
on your skin.
