Members of the SCA textile community of Atlantia (and two foreigners from
further north) will be demonstrating 9 different medieval and Renaissance
textile techniques this weekend -- 3 and 4 May -- at the annual Maryland Sheep and
Wool Festival which is held at the Howard County Fairgrounds just off I-70.

You will be able to watch weaving, including on a warp-weighted loom,
spinning, embroidery, tablet weaving, sprang, nalbinding, fingerloop braiding,
knitting, and bobbin lace. You will even be able to try your hand at most of
these techniques! And there will be books, kits, and other items for sale.

Hours for the festival, which is a huge and fabulous affair which has
everything your heart could ever desire when it comes to wool, threads, sheep, and
"thread things" in general, are 9-6 on Saturday and 9-5 on Sunday. Both
parking and entry are free.

See you there!
