If I have sorted through all the opinions, thoughts and information given on "Spike" the last two days, then this is what I am left with.... A) Spike is one of the devices available for the populace of Atlantia to use to show their fealty to this fair Kingdom.  B) Their Royal Majesties have gently requested that those of Their Populace going to Pennsic wear a mantel with "Spike," to show our unity of purpose.  The rest is superfluous opinions and trivia.  That being the case ... Spike is no more "silly" than a rainbow (which is the populace device of the barony to which my heart will always belong) or a sun in glory...It is a symbol.  Nothing more nothing less....
