I can assure you than nothing that happened in the West has anything to do with Yang's song (I have a tape of his singing it). He was referring to the actions of a Midrealm king.
 
But then stories often travel and are attributed to others than the original people. I have heard a different story attributed to three different fighters in three different cities based on an event when I and Mistress Alisoun was present at the table with  Magnus Bloodax and he delivered his famed restaurant performance - but that was long ago on the "Longg Island."
