I have never been told that it was honoring Royalty when bowing to empty thrones. I was taught that you are saluting/showing respect the the Crown. To the Kingdom, what the Crown stands for. It has nothing to do with the person who wears the Crown, or the thrones themselves. It has to do with respecting our Dream and our Kingdom as a whole. Respecting what they represent.
