Now this portion (Sorry for the cut and snip) is something that I find curious, being from the Midrealm.  I had always been taught that once one had their AoA, that blades were permitted, as at that point, one had "proven" themselves "noble".

But on the other hand, I had also been told that Knights were the only ones allowed to wear blades in court, period...

So, in 12 years of SCA, I've been told two different things, although the first seems to be the standard I am used to, but from reading the missive here, am I correct in surmising that it's not the Standard of Atlantia????

Yours in Service,

Finally, I guess there may be a lack of information on how to conduct one
self at court.  My lord and I will be FOREVER grateful to one of our
Barony's gentles who gave a class to us newcomers on what happens in court
and how to behave.  I often see gentles going in front of Their Majesties
with a blade on their belt (which should not happen) and I find it sad when
a lady cannot find one person to lead her to court when she is called.
