The Hidden Mountain Hafla April 26th in Harleyville SC will have an awesome drum class! (Please cross post)
Efendi Kamuran, teacher of Arabic drumming technique and performance
etiquette, is planning to come over from Meridies to share his
knowledge. Kamuran (the Turkish alternate persona of Yves de
Fortanier) will bring extra drums and other percussion instruments and
cordially invites you to do likewise.
Dancers! Would you like to practice coordinating with the lead
drummer? Dancers and drummers can both take turns being the leader
with Kamuran moderating.
Kamuran has taught at many events since AS 33, including two in
Southern Atlantia, was a founding member of Peach Curry, and looks
forward to meeting you at the Hidden Mountain Hafla.
[Warning: Commercialism!] He will also have for sale Peach Curry's CD,
Dancing with the Infidels. It features a melodic melange of
Mediterranean dance music ranging from the 10th century to the 20th
century. You can listen to sound clips at
