I just ordered 16 cubic feet for my dad. With shipping, the order cost me around 130 bucks. They sell it in 4 cubic foot bags for around 18 bucks each, with shipping at like 12 bucks per back. Turnaround time turned out to be faster than they even said it would be. 
 
He, too, was having trouble finding vermiculite for his garden projects, so I did a little web search and found this site. I was happy with the service. Ordered it online, and few days later these great big boxes appeared on my doorstep. Nice!
 
If you are looking for some other grade stuff (I only know about garden vermiculite), I saw some sources for that on-line too. Apparently, it's used in gas fireplaces and such. Google it, you'll find some sources.
