The term is sufficiently ambiguous in blazon that the SCA no longer allows 
it and, in fact, eliminated it from all previous SCA blazons, changing it 
to "sea-horse" or "natural seahorse" as appropriate.  Spike was originally 
blazoned "a unicornate hippocampus", by the way.
