Personally, I think Spike is a very fitting mascot for Atlantia and I'll tell you why. Our army is strong enough and confident enough that we don't need to bolster our image with excessively macho totem-animals.   The dead we leave behind on the battlefield are enough proof that Atlantian fighters are simply the best.  Instead we choose an animal that is beautiful, honorable, romantic, which serves his chosen-mate in a truly chivalrous fashion in protection of the young to symbolize ALL of Atlantia.  Let other, lesser men and women wear their tigers and their dragons.  They have to compensate SOMEHOW.
