Don't forget the male seahore is also the protector of the eggs. Atlantian fighters are tougher than a seahorse.. but the populous device is the Spike a unicornate natural seahorse. <g>

That makes me feel better. :)

I wish some of the folks who sent me agreement via e-mail would do the  
same here on the list -- I'd feel less alone.

But my opinion partly is reflected by His Grace's commentary above --  
in addition to the point that it just doesn't strike me as a good  
heraldic sidekick. Consider the royal beasts of tradition: Dragons,  
Tigers, Stags, Lions, Bores, Eagles.... and a frikkin' sea horse.  
Plus, it's a *natural* sea horse. I think I could handle a heraldic  
seahorse, but... damn.
