Most gentle greetings!
The heat has subsided from the emerald peaks of our beautiful mountains and very soon, they will burst into hundreds of brilliant colors as the magic of fall turns each leaf its own special hue. Before that magic is gone completely and replaced by winter’s frost, Hawkwood invites everyone to join us for a weekend filled with laughter, fun and enchantment! Details can be found at our event webpage located at http://hawkwood.atlantia.sca.org/events.html , where our illustrious autocrat, Lady Elizabet de Roslyne, will provide updates as necessary. However, let me share some details not yet posted, just for you, about the evenings' FUN!
For those who will come early and join us for Friday night festivities, bring your modern Halloween costume and join in a family friendly modern costume party! The Women of Hawkwood are back with their usual interesting themes meant to entertain. What theme, you ask? Well, would you walk the runway or sulk in the shadows of it? Line your eyes like Elle or Ozzy? Choose your poison in Glam or Goth, and show us all that glitters, or growls! A prize will be given to the best Glam and the best Goth. All types of costumes are just fine, just do keep in mind this is fun for all ages. Candy will be enjoyed!
Saturday evening will be the real party for all to join in! Once we have enjoyed a sumptuous dinner, a transformation will occur all around. Our guests will find themselves surrounded by an enchanted forest filled with creatures only limited by your own imaginations. We welcome all to join us in their most period representations of creatures that would be found in the enchanted forests of Hawkwood. How would your persona attend our magical masked ball? Would you have joined in the festivities dressed as one of Nature’s children, perhaps your own heraldic charge or favorite pet? Or, would you be more creatively clad as a magical creature, mythical beast or legendary folk? There will be a prize for the most creative or stunning costume in the forest on this night. It is not hard to predict that our forest will be filled with merriment, laughter, dancing and beauty. Afraid you will put lots of work into your costume only to have nothing but a memory to show for? The man wit
 h the
magic lens, Baron Bardulf Rauen, has said he will be there to commit your memories to film. There will also be a period mask making class and some instruction in dance offered earlier in the day for those who would like to learn some steps in advance. However, if you don’t know the steps, don’t worry, you can join the rest of us that will be <grin> winging it!
So, dear friends, please join us for Hawkwood’s Howl the weekend just before Halloween (10/26-28/07) for all the fun we can think of to offer.

Looking forward to the fun,
Baroness Adeliza
