Nope, that's a jig. If you listen to it again, I think you'll find that it
really is in 6/8 time.  6/8 tends to have strong beats on the 1 and 3, which
is why some of us usually count it in 2.  (a fast
ONE-two-three-FOUR-five-six can work just as well as moderate ONE-two.)
4/4, 2/2, 6/8 - it's all divisible by 2.
