Basically it means that once you receive your award you are expected
to continue doing whatever you did to get it.  If you are awarded with
membership to the Order of the Golden Dolphin, you aren't supposed to
just slack off now that you've got your cookie - you're supposed to
keep working at that same level and be an example and inspiration for
others to follow.
