Greetings!

Crown Tourney is this weekend. Along with the wonderful pageantry
associated with the choosing of Their Majesties' new heirs, there will be
diverse Arts and Sciences competitions, including Tempore Atlantia. The
following competitions are offered for this cycle:

*Competitions for Fall Crown Tournament*
*Highlighted time period:pre-1000*

   - Best in Show, sponsored by Mistress Iseulte of the Red Cliffs (
   krista.moyer at gmail.com <rvanrens at hotmail.com>)
   - Best Entry by an SCA Merchant, sponsored by Master Eadric the Potter
   (rvanrens at hotmail.com)
   - Best of Any Item Associated with Archery during the Highlighted Time
Period; this includes, but is not limited to, crossbows themselves, quivers,
illumination, bolts and clothing. Documentation is required. Sponsored by
Baron Charles O'Connor (jphughessr at yahoo.com) and Lord Siegfried
   Sebastian Faust (crossbow at freeshell.org)
   - Best Display, sponsored by Maestra Jessamyn di Piemonte (
   grace.morris at providenceday.org)
   - Best Knitted, Woven, or Handspun Item of the highlighted time
period, sponsored by Freiherrin Susanna von Schweissguth (
   needleznpinz at charter.net)
   - Best Short Form Documentation, sponsored by Lady Kateryn Rous (
katrous at yahoo.com). The written text should be no longer than one
page, not including bibliography and images.
   - Best performance of a piece from the highlighted time period. Sponsored
by Lady Celia of Rosedale (psallite703 at msn.com). Prizes will be
awarded in three categories: Vocal music, Instrumental music & Storytelling
or theatrical performance. Solo performers as well as groups are
welcome to compete. Documentation is requested.

I encourage you all to bring your best entries representing pre-1000
culture. Judges are still needed. If you have knowledge of pre-1000
culture or even just a specific area such as textiles or metalwork, I
encourage you to stop in and offer your help. Even evaluating a single item
is an immense help when there are so many quality entries to see. Remember,
you do not need to be a Laurel or have an A&S award. If you feel qualified
to make a constructive evaluation based on the documentation, the local
coordinator would love to have your assistance.

YIS,
Iseulte of the Red Cliffs
Deputy for Tempore Atlantia
