Gentle greetings one and all,

The War is now behind us and fall upon us. The mountains of Hawkwood are
bright and bursting with color. Come and join us this weekend, October 26
through 28 as we celebrate our bountiful fall harvest. Join in the
festivities of Hawkwood Howl.

Friday evening, after check-in, jump into your best Goth or Glam (or other)
costume and join the infamous Ladies of Hawkwood at their funfabulous
Halloween Party. On Saturday evening, join in the masquerade ball where more
period dancing and merrymaking will rule the evening. It is whispered that
our most gracious and lovely Baroness will be among us, behind which mask no
one knows. She has been known to have a surprise or two up her
sleeve....hmmm....

On Saturday, for the stout of heart there will be a Bedford Points tourney
with triads, in both heavy and rapier. There will be youth combat offered
during the day as well as target archery. Prizes will be awarded to the best
in each category.

For you creative minded souls, A&S competition categories are Period use of
Gourds, Period Poetry and SCA quality combat shields displaying the owner's
heraldry. There will also be a contest for the best period mask.

Join in Market Day -- Bring any SCA garb, fabric or gear you would like to
barter or sell. This is the perfect time to clean out your SCAdian closet to
make room for the cool new items on your SCA Holiday List. Market Day is also
a good way for new folks to get needed garb, feast gear, etc., at a great
price.

Musicians, bring your instruments and singing voices. Feel free to set up
and pass the time filling these mountains with music.

The children attending will have the chance to decorate (not carve) their own
small pumpkin to take home. There will also be a chance to trick-or-treat at
certain locations through out the site.

A generous and glorious feast is being orchestrated by Hawkwood's very own
Baron Thorgrimr inn Kyrri and his most talented kitchen staff. Spaces are
going fast. If you plan to join us for feast, please get your reservations in
soon. (Remember, feast is sold by seat, not age)

Come one, come all! Enjoy the Beautiful Mountains of Hawkwood, and good
friendly folks, at Lutheridge Conference Center, 28 Spruce Drive, Arden, NC
28704. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me (Elizabet)
at "EllenG at mchsi.com" or call 828 369-0720 until 9 p.m.
