Greetings to the tavern from Lady Adriana Michaels.

I wanted to remind everyone of Dun Carraig's upcoming Birthday event,
to be held November 10, at the Izaak Walton League in Waldorf, MD.

**The Basics**
Site opens at 9 AM, closes at 10 PM
Site is WET.  No pets, no smoking inside the building.

***Event Highlights:***

**Artisans' Row**
Space will be available for artisans to demonstrate and talk about
their crafts, meet other artisans, and show off current projects.
(Contact Maistresse Mathilde for details, and to reserve space.)

**Contests**
Prove to the assembled company that you are the best and bravest
warrior in the land--or at least in your own mind--by taking part in
the boasting contest!

Brewing contest - After a hard day of pillaging, every Viking needs a
good drink (or several).  There will be both a general brewing
contest, and a contest to determine the next Baronial artender.

**Children's Activities**
A Viking wire weaving class, a scavenger hunt, and the children's
castle await the young Vikings at this event.

**Martial Activities**
The armored tourney features a beautiful Viking sword as a prize for
the overall winner of the tourney.

The rapier tourney will be a rune tourney, where the weapons used by
each fighter will be determined by the whim of the Norns.  Each
fighter will draw a rune to decide how they will defend themselves,
with a third rune drawn to decide their fate. Will you be victorious,
or will your thread be cut?

Following the Tourney the fighters shall hear of trouble in their
homelands! Alas there is but one sheep left in each village! Fighters
from the two villages shall gather together to "go a Viking"! Raiding
the other village shall be the plan, to take their sheep for your own.
You must get your stolen wooly bounty back safely to your village.
However your own sheep must remain in its paddock in order for your
flock to grow so it must be protected! (If your sheep doesn't score,
neither shall you.) Those who manage to get the most sheep before the
horn sounds shall be declared victorious!
