[MR] Thanks from the Company of the Crimson Raven

Unto the most noble populace of Atlantia,
Lord Dietrich von Stroheim, captain of the Crimson Ravens, sends greetings!
On behalf of myself and my whole group, I just wanted to thank everyone at War of the Wings. Never before have I attended an event where people went so far out of their way to make me feel welcome. The good folk of Black Diamond treated us like visiting royalty, rather than foreign mercenaries: noble Baron Angus and his people helped us find and set up our encampment, wined and dined us with delicious food and drink, and generally made sure that we were enjoying ourselves.
After the war ended, Baron Marc was gracious enough to invite us to his camp for excellent red beer and even more excellent company as we talked over the high points of the day's battles.
His Excellency The Achbar ran some very enjoyable battles; it was my lady wife's first battle, and she was terrified going into it, but when the day was done she decided to put aside her plans to be a combat archer because fighting hand-to-hand in the press was, 'just too damn fun', as she put it.
And the Clan Ebonwoulfe torchlight tourney was decidedly the most fun I have had on the list field. Not only did I get to compete against some powerful and courageous Atlantian fighters, but I walked into the tournament as a total stranger and finished with lots of new friends.
So, in summary, thank you to everyone at the event who made it so well-worth the drive up from Savannah. The Company of the Crimson Raven will definitely be returning to next year's War of the Wings.

I want to thank everyone who came to War of the Wings II this weekend.
Collectively your companionship, joy, knowledge, skill and simple presence made
this weekend worth every moment of planning, running and working and every
aching muscle in my body. And, trust me, there are a lot of those. =o)
For a second year in a row we were gifted with opponents who were gracious
and worthy in the extreme with Black Diamond and her allies.
Most especially I want to thank the heralds, seamstresses, trumpeters,
drummers, chariot construction crews, cavalry and patient populace for creating a
glorious procession of declaration. We began 15 minutes late and ended up 10
minutes earlier then we'd allotted time for and I felt neither bored nor
rushed and not a moment of stress from any of you participants.
And it was glorious. Thank you. This was an event I truly enjoyed.
Now get your pictures posted, would ya????? I was busy and didn't get to see
much and watched most of the procession from the rear, which wasn't a bad
view, mind you, but didn't really give the full impact of heraldic display.

At that depth some folk could have free-dived to recover items, and they could also have used diving bells. - just weighted barrels with open bottoms.? I recall reading that most of the guns and some other items were recovered from the "Mary Rose" with the aid of diving bells.

This is always exciting news. Archeologists have known that the ships were in
the bay, and generally where, but actually locating them has taken time, even
though they're in fairly shallow water. They're covered up in sand.
Unfortunately they do not contain a lot of high-value artifacts because they
went down in only 10-12 feet of water, and quite a lot of it was salvaged at the
time.

Greetings,
To everyone who helped make the Sweet Shop a success this past weekend. I would like to thank all those that bought sweets, bakes for the booth or just stopped by to talk or help out. War of the Wings was a blast and because of all the help baking and tending the booth it was something I could enjoy. Thank you very, very much!

Greetings everyone,
We all know that modern hangers don't really work on our garb. Here,
from the National Park Service at Harper's Ferry, are instructions for
making custom ethafoam hangers, AND a supply source list. So get out
your pliers and lets get bent...I mean.. let's get bending! :-)
Here is their website with instructions:
