Thank you for taking the time to read this to help ensure that we have a smooth event for all attending!

For those of you who are visiting the Elchenburg Castle site for the first time, please bear in mind that while it is a somewhat primitive site, it does have a few permanent residents as well as a few farm animals. We ask that you, your child, and your pet respect the residents, their property, and their farm animals.

The burn ban that was in effect for the entire State of North Carolina was lifted on September 18, 2007. So campfires are permissible. Site rules: please have extinguishing materials immediately on hand, remove all leftover firewood from the field, and fill in any holes made before leaving.

All vehicles will be parked in the parking lot. No vehicles will be allowed past the gatehouse during the opening ceremonies, and once the battles have begun, will only be allowed past the gatehouse long enough to drop your stuff off.

A designated area will be put aside for handicapped parking in the parking lot.

We have ordered twice as many portajons as last year (including 2 handicapped ones) and have clean outs scheduled!

There will be a large dumpster on your right as you enter the site - please deposit ALL trash there as you leave. Extra trash bags will be available in the farmhouse if you forget yours or run out.

Sandwich boards will be placed throughout the site with schedule and site map. The other side is for YOUR use. Please feel free to place your class/party/whatever flyer up on the other side.

Only period pavilions (including covered ez-ups) will be allowed on the battlefield. Links to ez-up cover patterns are available on the event website.

Your pets are definitely welcome! Please ensure that they remain on a leash or in a cage at all times.

I do ask that everyone do their best to assist with a wonderful, smooth event. If anyone (pets, children, adults) are found to be disrupting the event or disturbing the residents of the site, they could be asked to leave.

Finally, if you are bringing a child to the event that is not yours, please be sure to bring a Minor Medical Authorization Form signed and notarized by the parents. Links can be found at the bottom of every page on the event website.

Thank you for your time in reading these announcements.

I'm looking forward to seeing all of you at the event this weekend!!!

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to call or email me.
