I have long ago dropped out of A&S competitions because of the commentary.  I occasionally complain to whomever will listen about specific issues, and the most I've gotten from anyone is a bit of sympathy.  I don't think it has occurred to the MOASs or local Laurels to help me work with the person who made the annoying/awful comments (which I would be quite willing to do).
