[MR] New Film

I heard the author talking about it on NPR..and got the impression that 
there are major changes in the movie form the book. The heros is an American 
13 year old living in Britan instead of a pre-teen British boy as per the 
books.  The author said she had very little imput into the adaption, and as 
of the interview had not seen it. I suspect it will be loved by those who 
have not read the books and those who ahve read them will hate it or at 
least be disapointed with it. The studio felt that they didn't want to be 
another story about a British kid with magc powers coming of age ala Harry 
Potter.

Course I have not read the books,  and am planning on see the movie
