Before this gets out of hand, that is NOT the parameter of the Roll of Arms
Competition as I set it up or intend. The Roll of Arms is to be a
historical record of the _combatants_ who compete in the tourney, utilizing
their registered armory. If they do not have registered armory, I would
like entrants to utilize the Spike populace badge to denote that particular
fighter. Many historic rolls of arms were a record of particular tourneys
or battles and only denoted the warriors participating. That is what this
competition is intended to recreate.
I will be judging the entries on accuracy of the depictions of the armory,
as well as artistic ability and overall aesthetics. The last winner took
things a step further, by including helms and crests denoting and
symbolizing rank! It was fun to look through for the various little
coronets, pelicans, laurel wreaths, etc. and I was both amused and
impressed. http://www.flickr.com/photos/8407825@N02/525082139/ Just
including this for an example, but not the required formatting. I had
posted several period rolls of arms earlier so folks would have several ways
to look at it. I will also accept illuminated poems or songs.
I really look forward to seeing this reign's entries and sharing them with
the kingdom!
